Custom Assay Development Workflow

At ANTOXENLAB, we follow a structured approach to developing custom assays for food safety. This allows us to deliver tailor-made solutions that are both scientifically sound and practically applicable.

The process consists of the following steps:

1. Introduction & Needs Assessment

The process begins with a non-binding introductory meeting in which we discuss your specific question, application, and objectives. Together, we identify:

  • The type of matrix or product (e.g. food item, ingredient)

  • The target component(s) (e.g. toxins, allergens, residues)

  • Desired detection limits and sensitivity

  • Technological preferences or constraints

2. Proposal & Quotation

Based on the assessment, you will receive a detailed proposal including:

  • A description of the development trajectory

  • Timeline and key milestones

  • Cost estimate

  • Optional collaboration agreements (NDA upon request)

3. Contract & Agreement

Once the proposal is approved, we draw up a formal agreement covering:

  • Intellectual property rights

  • Confidentiality (if applicable)

  • Terms of delivery and liability

  • Expected deliverables and deadlines

4. Development Phase

Our scientists proceed with:

  • Literature research and method selection

  • Laboratory testing and optimization

  • Validation on relevant matrices

Throughout this phase, we maintain regular communication regarding progress, interim results, and any necessary adjustments.

5. Delivery & Documentation

After successful validation, you will receive:

  • The developed assay (protocol/method)

  • A validation report detailing specifications and performance

  • (If agreed upon) training or transfer to your laboratory

6. Follow-Up & Support

If desired, we offer support during implementation or further optimization. We are also available for follow-up research or modifications based on real-world application.
